Grupo RAS Secures a Major Logistics Park in Uruguay with AxxonSoft

Project Overview
Grupo RAS, an international logistics and transportation company, implemented AxxonSoft’s Axxon One video management system to strengthen security across a large logistics park in Montevideo, Uruguay. The site includes warehouses, customs facilities, internal roads, access areas, and perimeter zones, forming part of a large-scale logistics ecosystem with rail and road connectivity.
The project covered a logistics park representing an investment of approximately USD 120 million and required reliable protection of a complex, multi-zone environment. The deployed system includes 200 cameras, four servers, a video wall, one monitoring center, one surveillance center, and integration with access points, alarm systems, and vehicle barriers.
Customer Profile
Grupo RAS operates in international logistics, transportation, infrastructure, storage, customs operations, regional distribution, maritime agency services, and industrial project logistics. Through its logistics ecosystem in Uruguay, the company provides services that support traditional logistics operations as well as the agro-export supply chain and regional business development.
The secured facility is located in Montevideo, Uruguay, and includes logistics, warehouse, customs, and industrial infrastructure. Due to the size and strategic importance of the site, Grupo RAS required a security platform capable of managing a large number of cameras, integrating existing hardware, supporting real-time detection, and improving forensic investigation workflows.
Situation Before the Project
Before the AxxonSoft solution was deployed, the site already had a basic security system in place. It included radars, several IP cameras, analog cameras, and DVR-based recording with 30 days of archive storage. However, the system was mainly used for live video surveillance and basic recording review.
The previous setup had several limitations. It did not provide advanced video analytics, real-time event detection, or efficient forensic search capabilities. Security operators relied heavily on manual monitoring, and guards had to visually assess incidents using a limited surveillance interface. This made it difficult to detect intrusions, unauthorized access, fire events, or other security incidents quickly and reliably.
Grupo RAS needed to transform the system from a passive video monitoring tool into an intelligent security platform capable of supporting proactive response and faster investigations.

Customer Requirements
Grupo RAS expected the new system to meet several key requirements:
The solution had to integrate already-installed hardware, including existing cameras, DVR/NVR equipment, radars, alarms, and other field devices. It also had to support new multi-vendor cameras from different manufacturers, including Hikvision and Dahua.
Another major requirement was longer video archive retention. The customer needed to extend video storage from 30 days to 90 days, giving security teams more time to investigate incidents and compile evidence.
Grupo RAS also required AI-powered video analytics for both real-time detection and post-event investigation. The system needed to detect intrusions, unauthorized zone entry, fire, human posture events, vehicle license plates, and faces. Forensic search was also important, as the customer wanted to reduce the time required to locate relevant video footage and provide evidence to third parties operating within the logistics park.
Solution Selection
Grupo RAS consulted several providers and evaluated their technical proposals, implementation capabilities, and ability to deliver post-sales support. A proof of concept was conducted to assess the proposed solutions in practice.
Following the evaluation, Teledata SA was selected as the project integrator. The decision was based on the company’s technical capacity, ability to execute the project, and capability to provide reliable support after deployment.
AxxonSoft was chosen as the core video management platform because it could support the required multi-vendor environment, integrate different types of existing hardware, and provide advanced analytics and forensic search tools within a unified system.
The AxxonSoft Solution
The project was implemented using Axxon One as the central video management system. The platform manages 200 cameras across the logistics park, including perimeter, internal road, access, warehouse, and customs-related areas.

Video Analytics and AI Capabilities
AI-powered analytics were deployed to improve real-time detection and investigative workflows. The system uses analytics for intrusion detection, zone entry detection, fire detection, human posture recognition, license plate recognition, and facial recognition.
These capabilities allow the security team to detect critical events faster and respond more effectively. Instead of relying only on manual monitoring, operators can receive more accurate alerts and use the system to focus on relevant events.
Forensic search tools also help operators quickly find video evidence after an incident. This is especially important in a logistics park where multiple third-party companies operate within the same site and may require timely evidence related to security events, access incidents, or operational disputes.
Implementation Highlights
One of the key implementation challenges was the integration of multiple types of existing hardware. The project included cameras and DVR/NVR systems from different vendors, alarm systems, and a vehicle barrier system.
In addition, the existing fiber and data network infrastructure had to be redesigned and adapted. This ensured that the upgraded system could support a larger number of cameras, extended recording time, analytics, and centralized monitoring.
The final system created a unified security environment that brought together video surveillance, alarms, access-related events, analytics, and forensic investigation tools.
Results
After the deployment of AxxonSoft, Grupo RAS significantly improved its ability to detect intrusions and manage security alerts. The reliability of alerts increased, helping operators respond more effectively to incidents and reducing dependence on manual observation alone.
The solution also optimized the work of guards and patrol dogs by supporting them with more accurate event detection and better situational awareness. Security teams could focus their attention on verified or relevant events instead of continuously scanning video streams manually.
Forensic investigation became faster and more efficient. The customer can now search video archives more effectively and compile relevant evidence for third-party companies located within the logistics park.
The project helped Grupo RAS move from basic video monitoring to a more intelligent, analytics-driven security operation.
Future Expansion
Following the successful implementation, a second project phase was launched to expand the system to a new bonded warehouse area. This creates additional opportunities for scaling the solution, adding new integrations, and extending AxxonSoft’s role across the customer’s logistics infrastructure.
